Estates Development
Company and Adelaide Development Company are the management and
development companies in Perth and Adelaide respectively, of the
Roche Family group. ADC was originally established in 1922 in
Adelaide and EDC in 1928 in Perth. Both ADC and EDC remain wholly
owned and run by the Roche family.
The EDC Group remains one of the state's largest and longest established development companies. EDC's asset and financial strength, coupled with its experienced management enable it to handle projects with great diversity from small residential opportunities to the creation of whole new suburbs. The success of the past seven decades in this very demanding industry is a testimony to the professionalism and progressive thinking inherent in the structure of the firm where traditional family values are paramount.
Throughout the decades of its operation, the EDC Group has developed (among other areas) large segments of the suburbs of Sorrento, Hillarys, Duncraig and Padbury. The number of lots produced would be approaching 20,000. In South Australia, ADC has a similar pedigree.
EDC's business strategy is one of commitment to quiet success. To achieve this, the years have shown that one of EDC's strongest points is its focus on the development opportunities in which it involves itself. The Group limits itself to a select number of high profile/high management projects at any one time thereby committing itself and its resources to these projects, totally. This focus leads to a very clear understanding of the markets in which it operates and the communities it has developed. It project manages its own projects and funds itself almost entirely from within. This conservative funding position gives it significant financial capacity and again is a significant point of difference from that of others in the industry.
Development Projects
Flagship developments of the EDC Group at the present time are Harbour Rise Estate at Hillarys and its joint venture at Ascot Waters. Smaller developments include Wandina Estate in Geraldton, Caversham Grange Estate in Caversham and Bouvard Wood Estate in Mandurah in joint venture with Colin Heath and John Markham. The flagship developments in South Australia are Blackwood Park and Encounter Lakes along with several smaller scale subdivisions.
